Animal Webaction visited the site 15 March 2019 and confirms the situation described below.
There are not enough kennels to protect the 170 dogs welcomed at the shelter... They are living outside!
In Romania, the dogs living in this shelter don't have kennels to survive next winter, the temperatures can goes down to -20°!
The current kennels are in very bad shape.
The shelter welcomes dogs in very bad state of health, they won't make it without a kennel.
This collection will finance 20 kennels that Animal Webaction will take care of setting up on site.
1) Most of the dogs in the shelter don't have a kennel for next winter !
On March 11, our journalist Benjamin went to see the difficult living conditions of the dogs hosted by Florentina.
Florentina contacted us: we went to meet her and found out that her 170 dogs have no shelter to protect themselves from the weather: days and nights, summer and winter, the majority has no roof over their heads.
We wish to send Florentina kennels to protect these dogs already hurt by a painful history...
2) The shelter welcomes very weak dogs, without a kennel the cold will kill them !
Mike was a stray dog that Florentina would have liked to host at the shelter. Unfortunately she found him dead a week ago, he was the target of a shotgun blast...
Weakened by illness, Tom was locked into the public shelter. Florentina healed him and took him to her shelter but it was already too late: Tom died on February 6, 2019...
Saved from the public shelter, Suzy had very weak kidneys. The living conditions of the public shelter prevailed, she died at the end of February...
Billy was only 4 months old when he was killed by a disease last February, Florentina couldn't save him...
At the public shelter or in the streets, Romanian dogs are perpetually in great danger: attacked, badly treated, killed... Florentina tries to save the majority of them but unfortunately she doesn't have the means to help them all alone...
Without the shelter she created, the dogs would have no chance to survive: they are daily victims of violence in the streets or starve in the public shelter...
3) Kennels are in a terrible state: made of odds and ends, they no longer protect the dogs...

Because of the lack of kennels, Florentina has setted up some baskets: when it rains, when it is too hot or when it snows, the dogs are not protected...
Only a quarter of the dogs in the shelter can rely on a kennel. They are in such bad condition that they barely protect them...
4) We met the dogs welcomed at the shelter: all rescued from the public shelter and from the street, they are in very bad health... Without a kennel, their recovery is compromised.
Miruna was violently hit by a car. After 2 weeks in agony by the side of the road, Florentina rescued her... She will need security and a shelter to recover from this trauma!
Valentina was regularly attacked by her congeners at the public shelter. Florentina saved her before her injuries worsened and won...
At only 3 months old Moïse suffered from an amputation of its front leg... How will he live in the shelter without a kennel...?
After being poisoned, Costela is now in very poor state of health and will need a quiet place to rest...
Poisoned at the public shelter, Fiona was going to be euthanized. Florentina saved her!
We followed Florentina to the vet: before being hosted to the shelter, all dogs are healed there.
But without a roof to be protected under, it is difficult for these dogs, weakened by a life of misery, to live their recovery in good conditions...
5) If the collection fails, the dogs won't receive any kennel...

We can come into action, we have already booked a truck and pallets, but we have to pay it before the 5th of May 2019.
If the collection fails, we will not be able to pay, the departure of the truck will be cancelled and none of the collected kennels will be delivered...
If the collection fails, we will refund all donors.
6) When we met Florentina, she told us her distress: neither the foundations nor the government want to help... We are her only hope!
Florentina's calls for help often go unanswered..
Diseases and injuries are the daily life of these dogs...
It is difficult to improve the daily lives of these dogs with a debt of more than 10,000€ at the veterinary clinic!
The shelter, in poor condition, was simply improvised on the ground of a couple of pensioners..
With so many debts at the clinic, Florentina is having a hard time making ends meet... Her entire salary is used to feed and care for dogs: how can she find the money to improve their living conditions in the shelter with so few means?
7) Over-indebted and exhausted, Florentina continues her fight against animal abuse!
Florentina keeps smiling despite all the pain she faces every day...
Florentina is a true force of nature! When there is no more room in the shelter, she makes the decision to keep the dogs sick in her home, but also with friends and family... She knows every dog in the shelter, and is also involved in feeding and rescuing dogs from the public shelter.
Completely stunned and touched by the situation of dogs in Romania, she does not despair and continues to struggle day after day for a better future for the country’s dogs!

The X kennels will serve to shelter the 170 dogs of Florentina's shelter.
