In Serbia, Žužana no longer has kibble to feed her 80 dogs: several already died, we want to save the others!
1) The 80 dogs are weak: many have died lately ... Without kibble, the others won't survive winter!
Zara was attacked by the other dogs two weeks ago, she didn't make it ...
Mázli died of a disease last May, he didn't have enough strength to fight ...
Kokó died last June of an illness that he couldn't fight ...
Žužana mostly hosts seriously injured dogs which, despite the care she provides them, don't always have enough strength to survive ...
The treatments and surgeries that dogs undergo when arriving at the shelter require a lot of energy: without a proper diet they have no chance ...
2) During our visit to the shelter on August 28, there were only a few days of kibble left ...
The few remaining bags will only feed the 80 dogs for a few days!
Dogs won't survive on an empty stomach!
Without kibble, dogs will eat bread!
A diet based on bread will kill them!
When Žužana can no longer afford to buy kibble, she starts cooking soups made from bread and chicken carcasses. This very low protein diet may kill them!
Unfortunately, Žužana is alone and doesn't have enough support to continuously buy good quality kibble for her 80 dogs. Already very weakened by a miserable life, if the dogs eat bread, they will be in danger!
3) The current heat weakens the dogs: without kibbles, they won't survive ...
High temperatures weigh heavily on dogs, so they are trying to protect themselves from the sun.
Water won't be enough to regulate their body temperature.
To cope with the current high temperatures in Serbia, dogs hydrate and stay as still as possible. It is also essential that they can eat their fill, but the bread doesn't contain the necessary nutrients to help regulate the temperature of their body ...
Under the current conditions, a diet based on bread will be fatal!
4) Lonely, Žužana doesn't even have the means to maintain the shelter in a good shape ... She can't buy kibble anymore!
The shelter doesn't protect dogs from the weather or the stifling sun.
The kennels, damaged by time and gnawed by dogs, couldn't be replaced ...
This winter, wind and snow will penetrate the kennels!
Žužana can't afford all the expenses of managing a shelter. She regularly receives some donations of food or medicine, but she has to take care of all the other expenses: surgeries, medicines, vaccines, sterilization, food ...
She can't even adapt the shelter for next winter by building stronger kennels that would protect the dogs. How can she keep buying kibble for her 80 dogs?
5) If we don't reach the target, dogs won't receive any food

We can take action, we have already booked a truck and pallets, but we have to pay it before September 3d.
If the collection fails, we will not be able to pay, the departure of the truck will be cancelled and none of the collected kibbles will be delivered...
If the collection fails, we will refund all donors.
6) No one helps Žužana, some small European associations are desperately trying to support her but they can't afford to buy kibble anymore ...

8) Žužana will do everything she can to fight for Serbian dogs!

Dogs bring her so much love every day!
Žužana works all week, cares for her family and home. However, every day, she finds time to come to take care of the dogs: cleaning boxes, feeding, petting ... She would very much like to improve the conditions of the shelter so that dogs would be safer, cool in the summer and away from the cold in winter.
This woman with a big heart dedicates her life to abandoned dogs, we wish to help her in her fight by sending her kibble!
9) In Serbia, 100,000 street dogs are hunted down by dogcatchers to be killed or trapped in killing pounds.
Pongo's shelter is located in northern Serbia.
It is estimated that Serbia has about 100,000 stray dogs. Private companies were commissioned in 2012 to capture these dogs: their dogcatchers (the name given to the employees responsible for the capture) have been operating throughout the country since then.
Receiving bonuses for each dog captured, dogcatchers hunt dogs relentlessly, and use extremely violent capture techniques. Many dogs are killed, the others end up crammed into killing pounds, without care or food.
Volunteers believe that their actions, in addition to being cruel, do not have a beneficial impact on the volume of stray dogs in the country. Worse still, they greatly undermine the beneficial actions that have existed until now: the subsidies allocated since 2007 as part of a vast national sterilization program have been drastically cut, despite encouraging results when they were carried out....
10) What will the 2400 kilos of kibble be used for ?
This collection is organized by Pongo association, chaired by Žužana. The 2400 kg of kibbles collected will be delivered to her to feed the 80 dogs of the shelter
