Animal Webaction cannot be held responsible for any animal deaths caused by the lack of kibble.
1) In Romania, some of the 260 dogs at Piatra Neamt pound are no longer fed ... If nobody does anything, they will starve behind their bars!
"My concern is that a lot of dogs will actually starve to death. There was even a time when we found dogs eating a corpse... because they were starving... When dogs eat kibble, they're calmer, it keeps fights from breaking out!"
2) For lack of means, the town hall does not buy enough kibble for all the dogs. Because of this shortage, the stronger dogs forbid the weaker ones to eat, as they are starving!
"That's what's happening right now, because there's not enough kibble, so the dominants are rushing in and not giving the others a chance... We desperately need your help to save them! Dogs that don't eat are very quickly sick, skinny and can die from one day to the next... "
3) Rony is afraid of her peers who become aggressive when they are hungry: she doesn't dare to eat, she will probably be one of the first to die if the shortage of kibbles persists.
"Rony is extremely fearful... When she tries to get close to the few remaining kibbles, the dominants threaten her. So she doesn't dare to eat... If this situation continues, I'm afraid she won't survive... It's a great stress to think about the dogs that are locked in the pound. When I leave them after visiting them, my heart is broken. It's hard to see their eyes, their paws clinging to the fence, begging us to help them... and they're so happy to see us when we visit."
4) Diana is very worried: because of the lockdown, there are no more donations, no more adoptions... The dogs are in danger of starving, locked in their boxes!
"I'm too young to have my own shelter. But it's my big dream: To have a sanctuary for all the abandoned animals. Right now I'm doing my best to save the dogs from the pound, but I can't do it alone anymore."
5) With the end of donations and the closing of stores, Diana can no longer buy kibble...
"I'm the volunteer in charge of donations, adoptions, promotion... I do my utmost to find the funding and volunteers needed to help these dogs, otherwise they would all die locked up in their boxes... Today I am distraught, the coronavirus has made things even more difficult than they already were..."
6) Diana doesn't need money, just some kibble to feed the dogs at the pound...
"Hungry, the dominant ones eat what little kibble is available, and the others only eat if there's something left... Most of the time, they don't eat anything at all! If we had more kibble we could feed the skinny ones and prevent them from starving to death!"
7) If this action succeeds, Animal Webaction will deliver 4200 kilos of kibble to Diana : they will feed dogs from the public shelter, they will be saved!
Animal Webaction owns a logistics platform in Romania, as soon as this action succeeds, the kibble will be delivered to Piatra Neamt Public Shelter.
8) The main issue in Romania is that is it hard to find sponsorships to buy kibble, there is no foundation, no grant. Lots of dogs are dying in the streets without anyone looking...

12) Restrictions related to lockdown did not allow us to visit the shelter for this action
Due to the current health crisis, Romania has been placed in lockdown since March 13. As movements have been drastically reduced and controlled, it was impossible for us to visit the shelter to prepare this action.
However, Animal Webaction has been visiting Piatra Neamt's Public Shelter many times over the past two years, including this winter. We are in close contact with Diana, who has allowed us to prepare this action, and in whom we place all our trust.
