3) Maya's shelter mainly welcomes sick and fragile dogs, they will not survive without kibbles...
"This is a really difficult time, with the large number of dogs, the lack of volunteers, the lack of money to buy food, having a lot of old sick dogs. Debts are piling up, I'm helpless, I don't have enough money and I'm very worried about how I'm going to feed my dogs in the coming months . "
4) The confinement has isolated Maya even more: no more volunteers come to help her at the shelter, and the few financial supports she had no longer help her .

"I started rescuing dogs from the streets in 2013 because I couldn't bear to see them die on the street, they were alone and had nothing to eat. 7) In Bosnia, impoundments catch, torture and kill stray dogs illegally in order to collect state subsidies. Without Maya's help, her dogs would be doomed to certain death...

11) We visited this shelter before the confinement.
Due to the current health crisis, Bosnia has been placed in lockdown since March 17th. As movements have been drastically reduced and controlled, it was impossible for us to visit the shelter to prepare this action.
However, Animal Webaction has been visiting Maya's shelter many times over the past two years, including this winter. We are in close contact with Maya, who has allowed us to prepare this action, and in whom we place all our trust.
