Animal Webaction cannot be held responsible for dog deaths due to the absence of kibble.
1) In Romania, Iulian has no more kibble to feed stray dogs: abandoned in the middle of nowhere, they will die of hunger if nobody intervenes!
"I feed the dogs abandoned in the streets in Romania, in Iasi. There are many of them, every day more dogs appear at the feeding points. We have almost reached 100 dogs! I give them bread and when I can afford it, I buy a bag of kibbles.
As I am a veterinarian, I treat sick dogs for free and I sterilize them. But I need your support to feed them, alone I can't do it! The dogs will starve to death, it's a horrible, painful death!"
2) The streets have been deserted since the beginning of the quarantine, the dogs can't find anything to eat: if Iulian doesn't find kibble, they won't survive!
"There are so many dogs in the streets and so few shelters already full that there is no room for all of them, so they have to stay wandering the streets looking for food...
In the pounds, they prefer to euthanize the old dogs. I absolutely do not agree with that. I choose life, I do everything in my power to save them!
Today I feel helpless because I can no longer feed the dogs in the streets, I don't know what will become of them without my help..."
3) Little Zgribulici was abandoned at birth, he can find nothing to eat in the streets... He will die without kibbles!
"I knew Zgribulici when he was abandoned in the street at birth. I did everything I could to save him, every time I see him I check that he is not hurt or sick. I am sad that I cannot get him off the street, but the few shelters in the surrounding area are unfortunately full .
Without kibbles I'm afraid he'll starve to death: it's a difficult, slow and painful death... He has already lived through so much misfortune, I would really like to save him from starvation..."
4) Iulian is a committed veterinarian, but despite all his efforts he can no longer afford to buy kibble: he needs help to feed all the dogs!
"One man alone can't save them all! Very few people love animals and really want to help them. With my wife, we do feeding rounds almost every day: we have seen that there are more and more of them, despite our sterilization campaigns!
As we don't have any more kibbles to bring them, we keep on going to see them, offering them some pieces of bread when we have some. We're afraid they'll starve to death, they don't deserve this!"
5) Iulian doesn't want to receive any money, just kibble to keep the dogs from starving in the street.
"My wife and I love animals very much. I would like to create a shelter in Iasi for street dogs, like the one of the association Coeur d'Asha, so that there are more places for everyone. But here in Romania it is very difficult because we don't have any support from the government or the police, so we have to do everything with our own money.
It's expensive to treat and feed all the dogs, there are more than 100 of them! But we are doing what we can at the moment. Many are killed by people in horrible ways. We are exhausted by so much cruelty..."

7) Iulian and his partner association's calls for help didn't work, they couldn't buy kibbles! They're afraid that this action might fail too...
"If we could get a little support, I think we could do a lot to help all these dogs. I would like every dog to be adopted and have a good life. But without help it's not possible...
Here in Romania, most people don't care about dogs. They do more harm than good to them. The situation of animals is unbearable, not only in Iasi, but in the whole country.
People prefer to euthanize them and don't give them a chance. I hope to change this situation one day and change people's mentality. For that, we have to act together! "

11) Restrictions related to lockdown did not allow us to meet the volunteer for this action
Due to the current health crisis, Romania has been placed in lockdown for over a month now. As movements have been drastically reduced and controlled, it was impossible for us to meet Iulian to prepare this action.
However, Animal Webaction visited Iasi only a few months ago. We are in close contact with Iulian and Coeur d'Asha (who helped us prepare this campaign), and and grant them all our trust.
