1) In Serbia, Zvezdana is running out of kibble to feed the 100 street dogs she takes care of. If no one does anything, they will starve to death!
"There are around 100 street dogs that I take care of and ever since the start of the pandemic, there seems to be more and more dogs on the street every day. Because they're so many, it has become much harder to find enough food for all of them, I am already running out.
The street dogs live in poor conditions, a lot of them are hungry and many of them also require medical help. Without a proper shelter they are completely exposed. Hunger makes them vulnerable to illnesses, and makes them prone to agressive behavior towards people which is dangerous for them, and for people."
2) This female dog has just been abandoned, she won’t be able to survive if Zvezdana doesn’t find kibble to give her
"This young female dog has recently been abandoned. Around one year old she has lost all bearings."
3) Zvezdana’s shelter is home to 45 dogs, without food, they will starve too!
"There is a definite lack of food in the shelter, some dogs aren't eating enough. It already has consequences, their immune system is getting weaker, they are less resilient to illnesses, they become nervous, they lose weight.
I am afraid to even think about what could happen in the near future if I don't find a solution"
4) Zvezdana devotes all her time to the dogs but she is stuck due to her lack of resources. She can't buy kibble!
"With the pandemic, it seems as if everything simply stopped all of a sudden. I have to give them low quality food due to the circumstances, and they don't have enough to eat.
I’m trying to manage as many things as I can, whatever way I can, but it's really hard. I'm no longer able to buy kibble, because of the lack of finances and donations"
5) Zvezdana isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving.
"I am with dogs all the time, 24/7. It is really hard for me, seeing all those dogs abandoned and mistreated, it makes me sad. There isn't enough space for sheltering them all, it is difficult."
