1. In Romania, Valentina is running out of kibble to feed the 61 dogs under her organisation's care. If no one takes action, they will starve to death!
"I have 45 dogs at the shelter and I care for another 16 dogs which are in foster, I pay for their food and their treatments as well. Right now I have kibble left for 5 days, I cannot afford to buy more...
There's just so many costs right now. Everyone comes to bring me dogs, but nobody lends a hand to help me somehow....This cannot last, my dogs' health is deteriorating, they need proper food!"
2. Subject to malnutrition, Valentina's dogs are already catching diseases...
"The food we buy is the cheapest one. It's not the best quality, but unfortunately, it's all we can afford.... Because of that, my dogs lack calcium, they get skin diseases, foot diseases... We have to treat them for that. I try to do everything on my own but I feel like I can't anymore, it's very hard.
If I don't get a stock of food soon, I am afraid that my dogs will start fighting each other...Luckily, this has never happened in the past because I do everything for my dogs.
I often don't eat myself, just so I can give them something to eat.... But this is not a sustainable solution, for either myself or the dogs. I need to find a new stock of kibble to put my dogs out of danger!"
3. Saved from euthanasia, Giny and her 7 puppies arrived at the shelter recently, they won't survive without kibble!
"I rescued Ginny from the public shelter 2 months ago, she was about to be euthanized. She is breastfeeding 7 puppies (3 of her own and 4 from another litter).
If I don't find food soon, she will lose the milk for her puppies. She is very thin and weak, she's at high risk of developing rahitism/bone problems. In fact, she already has a problem to one foot, she's limping."
4. With her meagre resources and her growing expenses for the shelter, Valentina can no longer afford to buy kibble!
"I am a teacher, my husband has his own business. Everything we do is financed from our own pockets, and there is nobody helping us, no volunteers, no donations.
We have a credit at the bank for the land, debts at the vet's...There are many things to improve at the shelter, but every problem is linked with money...
We do our best to reduce our expenses as much as possible, we have to improvise a lot of the time, we build everything with our hands for example. I don’t have time for anything other than my job and the dogs...I feel helpless a lot of time!"
5. Valentina isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep her dogs from starving!
"13 years ago, I adopted a dog that helped me get through some difficult moments in my life, it was a real therapy for me. That's how this adventure started. I started feedings dogs on the street, helping them... At the time, I just kept them at home, doing my best to find them a family.
Two years after I decided to buy a piece of land and started the shelter. I can not pass next to an animal in need with my eyes closed, I have to do something about it! If I could, I would save them all, but I can’t. I have a large number of dogs and just two hands..."

I do everything for my dogs, but it's very hard to face everything alone. have no time and knowledge to raise money, to organize donations. I never receive anything, just empty promises..."
