Animal Webaction cannot be held responsible for dog deaths due to the absence of kibble. Why?
1. In Serbia, Vesna is only a couple of days away from running out of kibble. Her 200 dogs will starve if nobody intervenes!
"People usually help with donations, depending on the situation. But currently, the situation is very unfavorable due to the pandemic and donations are not frequent. I'm having a hard time. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I stand in front of the Pet Center all day and try to collect food, whatever I can get, but lately it's very little.
Managing a rescue is a very big responsibility and it is difficult to achieve everything. I try to dedicate myself to each of them, anoint them, talk to them. My task is not only to feed them but also to give them love.
The difference is that my love for them is safe and cannot disappear, but food can...This is why I go, I ask, please, I moan. Some call me a beggar but I don't care. Right now I only have 2 days left of kibble. My dogs need to get food, it's vital for them. Please help!"
2. Vesna's shelter is home to many sick and disabled dogs. Without kibble, the most fragile will not survive!
"Here at the shelter, most of my dogs are old, sick or disabled. A lack of food affects them very badly because they are a vulnerable group. They must never be left without food. Some puppies are also sick and they need to eat four / five times a day.
If my dogs stay hungry it can cause new diseases and puppies can also be affected in their development. That must not happen, that is why I fight as much as I can. I'm not ashamed to say I need help in every way. For the vet costs, the treatments, the kibble...
Another thing is that no one wants to adopt these dogs. Everyone is now looking for little ones and whites and to be cute and then when the children grow up and finish playing with them then they throw them on the street. It is not a toy. Most of these dogs are not going anywhere from here. The least I can do is make sure they are safe and well fed..."
3. Zara has been the target of malicious individuals, who committed the unspeakable... Still extremely fragile and afraid, she needs kibble to recover!
"One woman beat Zara's spine to receive donations. I'm in court with that woman. There are people who have sick minds. These are all those people who are able to harm dogs and other animals. For instance, how can anyone come up with an idea to cut off a dog's legs?
I can't understand that. Animals are most endangered and damaged due to inhumanity. And the state does not do anything about it and no one bears responsibility for their actions. There are more and more crippled animals. If the state took care of that, it would not be like that.
Zara is in a bad condition, but we try as hard as we can to make her feel safe and give her love. But all of this is not enough of course, she must eat kibble to get better!"
4. Vesna is alone to fight for her dogs' welfare. Indebted to the vet, she needs help to continue feeding her dogs!
"I'm always afraid of what will happen to the dogs tomorrow. I'm sick, my hands hurt, I don't have that much strength and I can't do everything as before, I need help. I have a lot of responsibilities around dogs and in addition to them I have other animals.
There is only one person who works with me, he does the overall cleaning. I would definitely need more help but I can't afford another worker, and there aren't any volunteers.
There aren't many good people here. Some even kill dogs. They throw firecrackers, scare them, poison them ...My dogs are living beings who need help and care, they do not harm others, but some people do not understand that. The shelter was not set up on a special date, it simply happened because I kept finding animals in need of help."
5. Vesna isn't asking for money, just kibbles to keep the dogs from starving.
"I love animals and I have been helping them for as long as I can remember. It's hard for me to accept injustice... When no one wants a dog, I take them. I cannot remain immune to everything that happens to them. I can't turn around and leave when I see a dog in trouble.
I'm tired but I love it. As soon as I get up in the morning, I am on my feet for the whole day. I chose that and it doesn't matter to me whether it's a pandemic or not, my job is happening in the yard and at home."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Vesna will not receive any money, but 2400 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistics centre in Serbia.

7. Vesna has exhausted all available recourses. She needs help feeding her dogs!
"Any help is welcome. I have a couple of good donors who help me but they can’t give it to me every day either, and generally speaking, much less is donated.
I used to have a little more food from the Pet Center, but now it’s not like that anymore. If I collect 20/30 kg per day, it's the maximum. That's not nearly enough for 200 dogs."
