1. In Bosnia, Nejira is running out of kibble for the 114 dogs at Zunovnica's pound. If nobody takes action, they will starve!
"Currently, the dogs are eating the cheapest dog food on the market. It's definitely not quality food but this is all we could buy with the donations we received. There is simply no money. We are three people (Ajla, Dalila and myself) trying to raise funds to feed the dogs at the pound, we do our best. The employee of the shelter also goes around the bakeries and begs for bread leftovers...
The municipality brings the dogs here at the pound, but they cannot provide food or treatments for them, so that's what we try to do. If me, Ajla and Dalila didn’t fight for them, these dogs would have no food at all... I know it is hard to believe, but that is the reality here.
At the moment, we have 2 days left of food...I want to say to everyone out there, 114 souls depend on us. Anything you can help with will be amazing for them. Please don’t let our dogs down!"
2. Tensions are already high and with the stock of kibbles running out, the dogs could kill each other!
"With the last shipment of Animal Webaction's kibble, the dogs' condition had clearly improved, they seemed happier, healthier and it was much easier to take care of them. Now, many of them have diarrhea, and they are more nervous, aggressive, they fight...
2 dogs have just died in fact, we are not sure how. The worker just found them dead, we don't know what happened, maybe a heart attack...In any case, if the food shortage continues, deaths are bound to happen again...
The dogs will keep on being more and more aggressive, and with winter coming, if we give them poor quality food, or no food at all, they will surely get sick...That's my biggest fear. I am depressed. As time goes by, it feels like the situation is only getting worse and worse. It has become very stressful and hard work to get food for the dogs."
3. Weak, unable to fend for herself, Čupka's life depends on this new arrival of kibble.
"Čupka has been living at the pound ever since it opened, 6 years ago. She's around 8 years old, she's lived most her life here already...
She is having a hard time feeding herself, she cannot impose herself among the other dogs. She is very scared and moves very little. We have to feed her independently.
Čupka is among the weakest dogs at the pound and would be an easy prey if the food shortage lasts..."
4. With many care expenses and a massive drop in donations, Nejira can no longer buy kibble for the dogs!
"All of our donations come from the Facebook group “Zunovnica help”. And now more than ever, it's very difficult to find donors. Lots of people who donated lost their jobs or feel unsecure to be able to help others.
We have debts at the local vet and pension because we had weak and sick dogs that we had to move there, to make sure they recover properly. We are paying for it monthly. In addition, the foreign organisation which used to finance dog sterilizations for us no longer does it, so that's another big expense ahead of us.
If we had enough food, we could focus our resources on other things, like rehoming, neutering, getting dog houses…"
5. Nejira isn't asking for money, only kibble to keep the dogs from starving!
"I love animals, especially dogs. But sadly, I live in a country where people don’t care for them. People here think that dogs are made for securing homes and be put on a chain in front of their homes.
The abandonments are very widespread. If the dogs become sick or old; if they move houses... the owners just leave them on the streets...
That's why I do my best every day to make the world a better place, even if it's just for one dog, at least I know I have made a difference."
6. If this campaign is successful, Nejira will not receive any money but 1 920 kg of kibble will be delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Bosnia

7. Nejira is knocking on every door possible to obtain donations and secure food for the dogs, in vain. She needs help!
"Everything is the same as it was during the last campaign, everything is slow and people aren't interested to help. It's always the same people helping in the end, but they can't do it too often.
When we publish posts in order to raise money on Facebook, we get comments like : “again?”, “we just donated”, “where are other people”, etc...
Feeding 114 dogs is very expensive, I cannot do everything alone, I don’t have resources for it, it is an impossible mission, that's why I need your help."
