"In my area all SOS calls come to me...I get calls about new emergencies and sick dogs all the time, it never stops. The number of dogs continues to increase but unfortunately, our financial support keeps decreasing.
My activity is entirely donation-based and right now, people donate less and less. I cannot buy more food due to lack of funds... We also have many sick dogs at the shelter, dogs awaiting surgeries, dogs under treatments. And I cannot schedule their surgeries at the moment due to lack of funds...
There are no consequences linked to the lack of food so far but in a few days, I will run out completely... and then I don’t know. Having food is key to keeping my 200 dogs healthy and calm. I don't even want to think about what could happen if food were to run out completely, it makes me sick to my stomach..."
"Lately I've been confronted with a very sad situation. I've had so many puppies sick with parvovirus and many lost the battle...They died in suffering, it was horrible. I stood alongside them and watched them die, powerless. Their pain will haunt me for a long time to come. To be honest, it felt like I had died too...
I need some help, to continue fighting and helping these souls survive in such a cruel world, because my dogs only have me to provide for them. I work 24/7 to give them the best care possible, but I can’t cope with everything on my own, with no resources...
That's why every little help towards giving them a better quality of life, or a better chance at surviving, helps. Food is a huge part of that, it aways is. It would be such a relief knowing their tummies are full this winter..."
"Foxy has a hip fracture. She was hit by a car and healed so wrong like a litlle Frankenstein. I don't want to imagine the pain she has been through. She walks with great difficulty and sometimes screams in pain when she steps...Still, she goes on and waggs her tail...She will need 2 surgeries, 1 on her leg and 1 on her hip, in order to have a life without suffering.
All my dogs are vulnerable, Foxy is just one example. She is a very gentle soul, and deserves to have a life without pain! I need to find a new stock of kibble for her and my other dogs. There is no way they can go on without food, they're too fragile!"
"Because of the pandemic, and the post-holiday period, people haven't been donating much lately. I do have some support, and I'm grateful for every single person or company that donates or helps me in some way. But fundraising is becoming more and more complicated and I must admit I feel overwhelmed.
My debts are accummulating, I have up to 9000€ of debt from surgeries for dogs and their treatments...I need to find ways to extend my community and obtain more support.
For example if each dog at the shelter had a sponsor, it would greatly help. This alone, would help take away some of the stress and fear I feel on a daily basis. I'm constantly thinking about ways to find money for the dogs' care, for their food...I care for these dogs too much and I would collapse if anything happened to them"
"I've loved animals ever since I was a child and I started rescuing them 15 years ago. My association was created 3 years ago, from the wish to save as many innocent souls as possible.
I want to believe that my involvement has made a difference over the years but it’s hard when people don’t help and only want to be helped... Here in Romania, people don't break out of their habits easily, they continue to abandon many dogs and puppies. Sometimes I feel like I've worked in vain for so many years...
That's why it's so important to solve the problem at the source, by leading sterilization campaigns. My previous one was cancelled because of COVID and I don't know when the next one will be able to take place, but I must find a way to make it happen."
Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.
"COVID has done damages all over the animal rescue world. I need to adapt to these new times we are living, I have to work even harder to fundraise and manage to keep the dogs at my shelter safe, and continue saving more innocent souls in distress, everywhere.
I know there are people in the world who care about the situation and the cruelty against animals in Romania. And I believe we can only make a difference if we all come together."
When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.
