Tom has unfortunately tested positive for feline AIDS. Impacted by the disease, his immune defences are less and less efficient to protect him against viruses and cold spells...
As a result, Snow is suffering from the calicivirus: this virus is causing him an inflammation of the gums, which makes him drool.
He also has a very painful mouth, which makes it particularly difficult (or even impossible!) to chew his food. Without an alternative to kibble, Snow is at risk of starving to death...
With blankets, Tom would be less vulnerable to the low temperatures and air draughts. This would be invaluable in preventing him from falling ill, given his particularly fragile state of health!
We don't have enough resources to feed the sixty cats in foster care and the thirty stray cats... These are difficult times for associations and we won't last much longer like this!
