Animal Webaction visited the site 02 June 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Nour is running out of kibble for the over 60 street cats she feeds every day. They will starve if no one helps them!

%%%

"I take care of about 60 cats on the streets, and 10 additional in my workplace. Unfortunately their number increases regularly, and we don't have an education to protect the animals here, so it is quite normal to find many cats in horrible sanitary conditions.

It really hurts when you see thin and sick cats, because of the lack of food, trying to eat away from the trash, even more so when you don’t have the power to help them eat well. I'm already struggling with the lack of kibble for them, I only have 10 kg left at this stage, and try my best to make up with chicken leftovers. I am afraid of not being able to buy anymore food in general, it will be harder if these cats have nothing to eat.

Feeding them is like feeding my own  children, you can imagine how sad it can make me if I can't do that for them. Because if I don’t save them, no one will, there are few people who take care of street cats."

2. On the street, thin and suffering from allergies, Mia relies on the daily care provided by Nour, she cannot survive without kibble.

###

"Mia is a young cat of about 8 months old, that I've been caring for for the last 2 months. I found her on the street, suffering from skin allergies and generally skinny.

Street cats offen suffer from weight loss and hair loss too, as there are many who find nothing to eat on their own, some others who only manage to eat a bit from trash, but that doesn't keep them healthy.

Mia's health is a bit better now, I treat her everytime I go feed her after work, but she still needs special care and medicines."

3. Between her shelter and her flat, Nour also takes care of 59 cats, who are also threatened by the lack of kibble.

%%%

"I take care of 32 cats in my house, and 27 in the shelter. I've managed to feed them better than the street cats so far, but I only have a few cans left for them.

If I can't find something for them to eat, it means that I no longer have the power to do what I do, I'm afraid I won't be able to save cats anymore, feed and treat them. They might end up being in the street like most cats, sick and thin.

This campaign, if it succeeds, means that I can guarantee for them to have food, and stop being afraid of not having the means to take care of them for a while."

4. With marginal donations, Nour can only rely on her salary to take care of cats in need, but this is not enough, she can no longer buy kibble.

###

"At this moment, I finance my rescues essentially with my salary, which is not enough to manage my life, feed all these cats in need, and face the unavoidable expenses that go with their care, if only rent, gas and medicines.

I don't have the budget for kibbles, let alone special food like the one needed for kittens, and I can't even cover all the vet costs that would be needed. Donations are scarce, especially since the pandemic.

Rescuing animals in a society that is ruthless to them is in itself a huge challenge that I face, feeding cats and taking care of them every day after work is something I love, but I'm afraid I might not be able to do this anymore without more support."

5. Nour is not asking to receive any money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.

###

"I'm glad, because despite the difficulties faced so far, I have managed to rescue many cats, and the neighbours have started to interact positively with me and take care of them as well, which is great. Caring for cats is a passion, a great love for me.

I'm now in the process of establishing an association, it is frightening to be responsible for the lives of a large number of cats, but I am optimistic at the same time because I will keep working hard to save them and educate people about them as well.

The lack of kibbles and food in general can cause serious illnesses to cats, which can lead to death, so it remains the absolute priority."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Nour will not receive money but 1140 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble throughout the country.

7. Moroccan associations are overwhelmed by the needs and cannot help Nour; the only friendly association abroad is already doing its best, and is asking us to intervene.

###

"I tried several times to contact Moroccan organizations, but they don't really have much means to be able to help me, and the other small associations in Morocco just try to take care of their animals already, that's why I received no help

I am collaborating with an association in sweden to set up a proper shelter for stray cats here, and setting up a proper spaying/neutering program, to really make a difference. It means a lot, but their means to help with food for now are also limited unfortunately.

I have no other solution for the moment, I need help to go on with this mission"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the organizer receives nothing and the buyers get a refund.

9. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibbles, many cats remain starving in the street!

If you know of a foundation or NGO that could help Nour please invite them to contact us so that we can put them in touch.

If you represent an animal protection foundation or NGO, please help the cats cared for by Nour, contact us and we will put you in touch!

If you would like to come to Nour's shelter, or if you would like to send her kibble or a cheque directly, please contact her on Facebook (note: direct help is under your own responsibility).
